🚨 Blood Emergency Alert! 🚨
This holiday season, the Community Blood Center (CBC) faced a significant drop in donor turnout and a recent winter storm led to widespread cancellations of appointments and blood drives. The region is grappling with a spike in seasonal illnesses, including COVID, RSV, Flu, and cold, hindering many from donating.
Last year, blood collections hit a six-year low, down by nearly 18,000 donations since 2021. In the last three weeks alone, CBC witnessed a staggering 40% drop in donations, exacerbating the existing shortage. Types O-, O+, and B- are at a critical 1-day supply, alongside a severe shortage of platelets, far below the recommended 7-day inventory.
Our community is not alone; blood emergencies have been declared nationwide, emphasizing the critical state of our nation's blood supply. This shortage is a stark reminder of its fragility.

Lots of things happening today and this weekend in Warrior Country! First, the Warrior wrestling team is set to compete today and tomorrow at the Tri-County Duals in De Witt, NE! Action starts at 2PM today and 9AM tomorrow.
Next, the Warrior basketball team will be in action tonight at home vs. St. Joseph Christian. JV will tip off at 5PM with varsity to follow. GO, WARRIORS!!!
